At Cortext, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Cortext.
Information provided by the user: Upon registration, we collect your email, username, and profile picture.
Location Data (GPS): Cortext requires access to your location in the background or while using the app to detect nearby trees and validate the geo-located "carvings" (messages) you leave or read.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share generic aggregated information not linked to any personal identification information with our business partners.
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures (encryption) to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data from our servers, you can do so from the application itself in Settings > Delete Account, or by completing our Data Deletion Request.
Cortext is intended exclusively for users over 13 years of age (or 16 years depending on European jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we detect that a minor has created an account, it will be deleted immediately.
We will retain your personal information and geolocation data only as long as your account is active. Once account deletion is requested, all your data and associated messages will be permanently deleted from our servers within a maximum of 72 hours.
For the proper functioning of the application, we share strictly necessary information with payment processors (such as Apple App Store and Google Play) and use backend and database infrastructures like Supabase to securely store user accounts and messages. These providers comply with the highest security and privacy standards.
